Tahuampa Lodge Amazon Expeditions
I was delighted
to find my old friend Marcus Garcia is managing expeditions to the
Pacaya Samiria Reserve. where the Ucayali and Maranon Rivers converge
and create the great Amazon River system.
His company is Tahuampa Lodge Amazon Expeditions. Marcos has over
twenty years of experience as a guide in the Peruvian Amazon
Rainforest. He speaks excellent English and has an in depth knowledge
of the flora, fauna, and cultures of the reserve.
His tours to the reserve are what we would call "low-impact." If you're
interested in a luxury lodge Marcos's expeditions are not for you. (I
can suggest luxury lodges). Marcos's nights are often spent in homes of
the native people in the Pacaya Samira Reserve--modest homes where
you'll sleep in a hammock and eat food provided by the family.
Other times you'll sleep in the forest under a tarp or in the bottom of
a canoe looking at the stars above. Ether way Marcos Garcia's tours to
the reserve will provide memories for a lifetime.
